While Zoom became synonymous with video conferencing in the initial days of the pandemic, several technology companies such as Microsoft and Google soon joined the race. Meet Hour, developed by Hyderabad-based developer Shoeb Ahmad Fareed, is trying to fit into the crowded video conferencing space. Its key selling points are ease of access and competitive plans. Users do not need to create an account or buy a subscription to get started. The video interface can also be live streamed over YouTube.

Video calling apps have become very popular in the last two years. With most people working from home, video calls have helped us stay in touch with work colleagues, family, and friends. With an aim to provide a secure and easy-to-use video conferencing app, four techies from Hyderabad — Shoeb Ahmed Fareed, Padmanabha Rao, Syam Prasad and Syed Zaki — have developed ”MeetHour”, which is being much appreciated by its users. Enabling people to connect anywhere at any time, the techies worked on the app in their free time during the pandemic. “It’s not just a video conferencing call, one can make any kind of video presentations on the platform,” says Shoeb, the Chief Technology Officer of App.

There are already many video conferencing apps in the market and does the industry need more? Video conferencing app Zoom became popular during Covid-19 and it has already more active users than Microsoft’s Teams, Cisco’s WebEx and Google’s Meet.
In the age of work from home (WFH), a team of Indian American entrepreneurs has developed “Meet Hour,” a video conferencing tool for all ages rivaling the likes of Zoom. The simple user friendly app provides unlimited free use for young and old alike as also smaller schools, institutions, and non-profits without time constraints.
